Register Rewards, or RR, are Walgreens 'money' that is only good at Walgreens. Products that have RR should be listed by a yellow hang shelf tag, and definitely are listed in their weekly circulars. In the beginning you have to buy an item for its actual price, but after you get a few RR in your possession, and you only buy other products with RR, you never lose the amount of RR that you have. Your savings will grow exponentially every time you buy items with RR! I will show you how.
Here is an example. I helped my friend Ashley this way.
- Toothpaste was $3.00 and had $3.00 RR.
- We walked up to the cashier and paid $3.00 cash ( +tax) for the toothpaste.
- Our cashier handed us our receipt and another receipt like paper that said Walgreens RR $3.00.
- Next, Shower gel was $3.00 and had $3.00 RR
- We walked back up the cashier and paid with our $3.00 RR and paid tax with real money.
- We could do this scenario over and over if we wanted, because there is no limit!
- Here we got $6.00 worth of product for $3.00
Here is another example.
- Toothpaste was $3.00 and had $3.00 RR.
- We walked up to the cashier and paid $3.00 cash ( +tax) for the toothpaste.
- Our cashier handed us our receipt and another receipt like paper that said Walgreen's RR $3.00.
- Next, Shower gel was $4.00 and had $4.00 RR
- We walked back up the cashier and paid $3.00 RR and $1.00(+tax) of real money.
- Then we got a Razor for $5.00
- We walked up the cashier and paid $4.00 RR, and $1.00(+tax) of real money.
- In this scenario we got $12.00 worth of product for $5.00
When people first learn about how this works, they immediately think that this is wrong or fraudulent. They are only naive. Walgreens is completely aware of how their RR system works, and I have even called corporate to verify this. Tons of people do this, and you can be sure your cashier has seen it a million times.
There are other stipulations that make the system a tiny bit more complicated. Such as....
- If you use a RR from one product, you cant use it on the same product, or a RR won't print. (ex. If you bought the toothpaste and got a RR, and then did that again, but paid with your RR, your little printer wont print out another RR)
- RR count as coupons, and you can only have as many coupons for the amount of items you have. (ex. If you buy $3.00 toothpaste and you have $1 coupon, and you pay with $2.00 RR, you have to buy something else because you have to buy 2 products if you are using 2 coupons. Most seasoned Walgreeners buy the cheapest thing they can find. Usually a piece of candy or small pack of gum. Ask the cashier, they will know whats cheap.
